Sky News host Sharri Markson has provided an update on Cyclone Alfred, which is set to hit Queensland and northern New South Wales on Friday.
The cyclone is expected to bring high winds of up to 150km per hour and life-threatening flash flooding, with serious property damage likely to occur.
Approximately 20,000 homes are at risk of flooding, and warnings have been issued for those living from Double Island Point, south of Fraser Island, to north of Grafton in New South Wales.
