On Wednesday evening, Tropical Cyclone Alfred was approximately 300 kilometres off the coast of Queensland as a category two storm.

Sky News Weather Meteorologist Rob Sharpe reported a tropical cyclone warning was in place from Double Island Point down to “almost” Grafton, with gale force winds within that region for the next 24 hours.

Destructive winds up to 55 kilometres per hour are likely to increase.
