The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Dr. Ahmed Audi, has “distributed keys and award letters for over 140 housing units to personnel as part of efforts to improve their working and living conditions.”

This was contained in a statement signed by the NSCDC Spokesperson Babawale Afolabi, on Tuesday.

During the distribution ceremony on Tuesday, Audi stated his commitment to providing an inclusive welfare package for personnel to support their livelihood and sustainability.

According to the statement, the CG acknowledged the “ongoing challenge of housing deficits within the corps but reassured personnel that efforts are underway to provide affordable housing to improve working conditions.”

He urged the beneficiaries to take full advantage of the opportunity to own homes, encouraging them to increase their dedication and contributions to national service.

In a welcome address, the President of the NSCDC National Headquarters Cooperative Society, Assistant Commandant Isa Yusuf, expressed that the project was made possible through the unwavering support of the CG.

Yusuf added that the cooperative executives would continue to work tirelessly to secure more affordable housing for members in the future.

Following the presentation of keys and award letters to the beneficiaries, the NSCDC boss, along with senior officers from the Corps, proceeded to Good Homes Estate in Kuje, Abuja, for the groundbreaking and foundation-laying ceremony of 102 additional housing units.

These units, which will consist of two and three-bedroom flats, form part of an ongoing effort to provide housing solutions for NSCDC personnel.

The new housing units will be located across several locations, including 80 units at Grand Luvu Estate in Masaka, Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, 60 units in Dei-Dei, Abuja, and 102 units in Kuje, Abuja, with a mix of one, two, and three-bedroom flats.
